Can’t stand it anymore!

Wednesday, March 26th, 2003

Ok, there are a few things I need to get off my chest here, so this is
going to be a little bit of a rant. Tune in next week if you don’t want
to read

One of the great things about this country is people can organize and
protest freely and safely as long as it does not cause harm. I welcome
protestors to have fun and make their beliefs known. If someone wants to
take time away from what they are doing to carry a sign and picket
something, go for it. In the past, protesting has successfully changed
the attitudes of many, and in the end had a positive outcome.

To the people that are now on peace protests regarding the war in Iraq, I
have a few things to clarify.

1) How ironic is it that violence breaks out in a Peace protest?? Maybe
you should read your own signs! Listen to your own chants! I think many
people protesting out on the streets are just doing so because it is the
cool thing to do. Kinda like many fans in the Dallas areas only
supporting their sports teams when they are winning. I will guarantee
that 5% of the people at Dallas Stars games have no idea about hockey and
don’t really care.

2) Get your facts straight. This war is not about obtaining cheap oil.
This war is not something that Bush is doing to take the heat off of his
domestic policy. This war is about removing a madman and a terrorist
from power. Why do you support a guy who uses chemical weapons on his own
people? A guy who drained a lush swampy area just because he did not like
the people who lived there. A guy who created an ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER
by pumping oil into the Persian Gulf! You people are CRAZY!

3) You cannot support our troops and still be so anti-war that you can’t
see straight. It makes you a walking contradiction. To support the
troops means that you support what they are doing. You understand that
they are giving their lives to the country so you still have the freedom
to protest. Meaning, you support their actions to keep you free, i.e.,
removing a madman from power.

4) No-one is PRO-WAR. War just sometimes tends to be the only way to
ensure that the way of life you enjoy can continue.

and finally…

5) Just because you like some famous Hollywood person does not mean you
need to think like them. People, do your own research! Please!
for the love of God understand the whole situation before you state some
argument about your opinion. You make yourself look like a fool
otherwise.

Thank you for allowing me to rant a bit, I feel much better. Now, be safe
troops! Come home as soon as you can! We thank you so much for the
sacrifices you make for your country. You are all true patriots!

Has it really been 2 years? Yep. Boy how time flies.

This weekend we went to the href=”http://www.dallasarboretum.org/”>Dallas Arboretum with a BUNCH
of folks to take pictures. My primary objective was to take new family
photos for the Williams clan. Secondary, enjoy the beautiful scenery and
take some flower pictures with Angie. Unfortunately, the family pictures
dominated, and I really did not get to enjoy that much (mainly because I
had TOO MUCH GEAR to carry around). I hope to have another go at it in
the near future before Dallas Blooms are over.

Hit the Saucer again afterwords.
Will be there today as well.

Yesterday was pretty slow. We did some stuff around the house and then we
hit Nate’s Seafood for dinner. Food was great, but the prices were a bit
high I think. Definately check it out.

Anyway, I’m out.

God Bless

Our troops which protect our freedoms. Be safe and you are in our
prayers!

lazy sunday…

Sunday, March 16th, 2003

Welp, here we are and it’s Sunday! Normally, I like to keep my sunday’s
lazy, but not this sunday.

I spent most of the day perfecting my paper for Operations Management (of
course taking breaks to talk to Wendi in College Station and to have a bit
of lunch while watching The Jerk on Encore), and boy I hope this will help
me get an A. The topic itself is kind of boring, unless you really enjoy
operations management.

Next week (weather permitting) I am going to be down at the Arboretum
taking pictures of the family. Dad has been bugging me to replace our
current family photo for about 6 months now. While I’m there, I’ll be
doing some other photos, and maybe one or two landscapes. It should be
interesting.

This week, I have 2 projects due. The aforementioned Ops Mgt paper and a
budget for Managerial Cost Accounting that I swear has a plugged balance
sheet. It seems highly unlikely that 228 thousand dollars would simply
dissapear…

Anyway, Out for now. You folks have a good one and tell everyone you know
about Catchlights, Inc.!

feelin’ fine

Today has been one of my better days lately. By better I mean I have had
a chance to let some of the craziness of the last 3 weeks really settle
in. Its been quite busy, and I have quite a bit in front of me, but I am
finally really beginning to apply some of the concepts I am learning in my
MBA to real world situations. It’s turning out to be extremely helpful in
solidifying this information.

I also found out that the reason my telephone has not been ringing (aside
from the fact that an un-named telephone company has screwed up one of my
numbers) is because the newspaper ad we are placing has not actually hit
yet. It goes out tomorrow. *whew*! We can delay the total failure talk
for a while!

I’d also like to take a moment and thank href=”http://www.hypnoweb.com/”>Darren Chorely of Hypnoweb for his
outstanding work on collateral for the business. Please take a moment to
visit his site if you are in any need of creative work. He is truly an
artistic genious!

On that note, I am out. toodles.

whee the weekend!

Saturday, March 8th, 2003

This weekend is mainly for catch-up work, and hopefully the phone will
start ringing. Our ad was in the McKinney HS paper last week, and I am
hoping to have some seniors who need portraits taken call very soon.

I did some outdoor work on the lawn and such this morning, going to get
the oil changed in the car and do some other things before meeting Todd to
work on our group project.

Mmmmm BEER!
