St. Paul

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2004

I’m wrapping up my trip here in St. Paul and this city sure is nice during the summertime. Its in the low 70s here right now. Mmmmtasty.

One thing that is driving me absolutely BATTY about St. Paul is the fact that the majority of the local businesses surrounding the city have the craziest hours of operation. Like 10am to 5:30pm. Must be fargin nice! We working stiffs sure have a hard time making it out to those locations should we want to shop after work.

I did the travel faux-pas and did not wrap my hair product in a ziplock bag. Guess what? Yep. Horrible explosion all over my bathroom stuff. So I’m trying to get to a huge luggage store to buy a replacement for my return trip and it looks like I’m going to have to try and hit it on my way out to a client site today. I showed up at 6 yesterday and BOOM! Closed! I wonder if those folks would do quite a bit of business if they stayed open an extra hour to hour and a half.

Anyway… enough ranting for me….

I passed… w00t

Yeh, I passed. I’m a licensed amateur radio operator Whee! So now when natural disasters happen, I’m all about helping out and being in the know. I’ve only got a little 5 watt receiver, so I’m not going to be sending long ass signals across the world, but maybe someday I’ll upgrade my license to Amateur Extra. Anyway… KE5BTA out

Mmmmfun

Well, the weather is nice up here in St. Paul. It was really beautiful both Saturday and Sunday, but yesterday was a record heat day. I guess those nice folks up there wanted to make a boy from Texas feel at home. 94 degrees. WHEE! Its cooler today as a front is working its way through the area, but they say it will be back to the low 70s by the end of the week.

So, you think that you are an invincible teenager? This mom sure showed her son what is up. Be sure to read the whole listing, not just the title, it gets so much better.

This week has been interesting school wise. I’m drowning over here in work for my Capstone and my other class. Things are heating up, but I think by Lakefest they will cool down enough to enjoy it. Also, we’re thinking of throwing our annual Jul 4 party on the 3rd this year (if you know us, you know we rarely have it on the 4th anymore). Any takers?

in the process…

Well, I promised a new look, and I’m workin on it… I’ve been playing with some bloggers, and recently, Zope. Its pretty dang nifty, I really do have to say. I’m looking forward to completely finishing it, one way or the other.

Next week will be interesting… Back from Pine Bluff, AR, and off to St. Paul, MN. Consulting is fun. whee.

Anyway… School is hellacious right now. The good news is the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. I am most confident it is not an oncoming train either. At some point, I’ve got to spend 5 hours at the Plano campus to finish up my ethics requirement. I wonder how many other graduating students will be crowded in that room with me….

Ok.. Off to pay attention to Chris for a while.
