While I’m listening to a customer call, I’ve been monitoring the weather (and also participated in a Skywarn net). The pool is lapping the top of the brick, and depending on how much more rain we get, it could start to overflow into the yard behind me. I’ve not pumped any water out as of yet, simply for conservation purposes. I’d rather have it evaporate on its own as opposed to pumping it out.
For the office phone, I’ve been running VoIP for close to three years. Things have been shaky as I started with Vonage with a Comcast combo, and then got better as I moved to Fios. Then I had enough and went to a Trixbox setup and TelIAX. Things have been OK at best. Some days are really great, some days are rough. Today, one of TelIAX’s providers totally crapped out and gave some of their customers (including me) a nice 3 hour outage.
So I figured I’d take the plunge and upgradoe Trixbox to version 2.2. Worked like a hose. Things are up and running with minimal issues. Had the same fread() issue that most have had, but the forums helped me fixed that with no worries. I hope that future upgrades are just as easy!
Thanks Trixbox team!
So I just went through my personal email box and cleaned out a TON of stuff. I’ve been procrastinating, and I certainly have a problem with out of sight, out of mind. After a first pass, I opened my email back up to 273 messages. Ouch.
Second pass got me down to 2. Both being TODOs for me to get on, both I will complete tonight.
Savvis puked on us today. They don’t know what happened, they just rebooted their little device and things started magically working again. That thing is a piece of junk. I wish they would have dropped a 3725 out at the site instead of what they did.
OK, being called up for bedtime…. be back in a bit.
Hope everyone has a good one. Thank you armed forces for everything that you do!
Get halfway down to James’s house to pick him & Erin up and, NO PHONE! Doh, sorry for no pictures from last night. It was a nice wedding, probably about 150-200 people, nice place on a golf course, weather held for the ceremony outside.
Big time congrats to Trav & Katy!
Just spent about an hour converting Dad’s and Garrett’s blogs over to WordPress from b2evolution. Was a nice run, but like many others, I’m not super happy with the development of the codebase. It’s a very nice blog site, don’t get me wrong. There are some advantages with going with a very popular solution when it comes to things like Plugins & spam control. Of course as Microsoft demonstrated to us, there are some disadvantages as well.
Anyway, time to start customizing this thing (and theirs) so that they look different.
Stay tuned. We’re heading to Trav’s wedding later today, so I’ll throw down some photos.
Finally back to the house today. I ended up walking over the threashold at around midnight. After beling delayed on the ramp due to weather, finally got to Dallas. Then it was the 25 minute cab ride from Love to DFW. Then it was me driving home (after the cabby passed my car), and him taking Randy home. Whee what a day.
Regardless, we all got home, we are all safe, and all sitting in the rain during this Memorial Day Weekend. I hope that the weather clears up at some point, I want to drive around TOPLESS! Yeah, with pasties and everything.
